Remington 750 for leftie
« on: June 12, 2006, 03:42:40 PM »
I want to get a Rem 750 in Whelen 35 but I shoot left handed. Has anyone tried one as a leftie? I am thinking the shells may be a distraction and maybe powder burn as well. I am dyiing to get this gun, I have not seen one like it at all. Thanks for any tips - Gordy. :?

If it ejects in the same direction as the old 742, there should be no problem (providing your arm is generally below the forearm).

Mine should be arriving in about a month, and if you haven't found out by then, I'll let you know.

BTW, on one of the sites I visit they're calling the 750's "Klingons".  Someone commented that the new forearm looks like a (censored word) forehead.

That censored word in my last post was the name of the bad guys in the first Star Trek series whose name started with the capital "K".  You know - Worf's people!

I have a 760 in 30-06.  It has had the safty changed to work from the left.  I bought it used at a gun shop.  One of my brothers uses it when he comes to visit, he's a south paw and loves it.  Tries to talk me into selling it to him everytime he comes up.  It's one of the few guns he has shot with no trouble.  And the left handed safety sure works nice for him.  Problem is I like it myself.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
