Got wind the other day of savage making a new model, the ALASKAN, it features a 20" barrel cambered in the biggies 338, 375H&H. Did anyone hear this?

I ran a google search, and only found it mentioned on another
forum. I guess that's where you ran across it.

Furthermore, the company mentioned has a website, but
it seems to be fairly new and not all that functional yet.

Nope-your are googled- heard it from a dealer. Said they be available to general public late summer. Not a new line but based on the weather warrior series, I should say a new weather warrior model. Dealer said  a manufactors rep showed him one of "ALASKANS".

One of the distributors, V.F. Grace , had a special run of Savage 116's done in big boy chamberings I think.  Dubbed the Alaskan Guide.  stainless/synthetic.  Could this be it?

That sounds like the critter. Could be interesting if put into the regular line.

I saw in F&S that Savage made a benchrest style gun based on the model 12. it had left side ejection port and no magazine. Petzel got a .5 MOA average with his 22-250

Was that with factory ammo or reloads? What else did they have to say about it?I lust after that rifle every time I see it.
