Purple Squirrel??????
« on: December 29, 2003, 07:32:02 AM »
  Thats right guys.  My son has been having problems with squirrels in the barn and while visiting over the holidays he showed us a purple squirrel he shot.  It has lavendar under the chin and on the belly but it is most certainly purple.  Have you ever heard of this.  Is it something they eat.  It is quite large and I wondered if the red and grey squirrel sometimes cross breed because I know that red squirrels sometimes change colors.  Jim is planning to make a mount of it it is so distinctive.

I have not figured out how to send a picture to Bill but when Jim gets the thing out of the freezer to mount it, I will get one for sure.  My daughter, who loves purple, has been commenting on the color of the squirrels and we all said, Oh Yeah right Mary, what have you been drinking.  I wil see what I can do.

Ain't seen any purple squirrels but I had a blue prarie dog that hung out around my camper last summer.  The poor thing just sat over there all by himself because none of the other prarie dogs would have anything to do with him. He wouldn't groom himself or nothing. Just sat with his nose into the wind. The place I set my camper was so far from town that I just dumped my black water into a hole behind the camper. Funny, now that I think about it, that is the hole that "Blue Boy" came out of.
Perception is everything. For instance, a crowded elevator smells different to a midget.
