Can I get "generic" nite sights?
« on: June 21, 2006, 08:49:30 PM »
I'd like to get some "glo-in-the-dark" night sights for my Colt Commander.  Are there some "generic" sights that can be put on my slide or are they all specific to some particular modle of gun?

slide cuts for sights are different on some guns so you need to go brand specific when you buy them.

You can also get some 'glow in the dark' paint and dress up the sights yourself.  Some fo the 'Trijicon' type night sites are excellent and last for a lon, long time but if you don't want to go that route even some white paint would help.  Just a thought.  Mikey.

I'll bet you can find something. Go to google.com and search for "night sights", "tritium sights", and similar phrases. Somebody's got to be making less expensive sights like that.

I found this when I searched for "cheap night sights":
I use the white nail polish trick too, but I then add a couple of coats of glow in the dark nail polish (Available around halloween) or glow in the dark sight paint (sportsman's guide sometimes has it) works great, just make sure to put the white on underneath it as the glow in the dak stuff is suspended in a clear laquer.
