Ramrod- Attached vs. Detached?

I have heard some folks proclaim the increased accuracy of removing the ramrod and holder attachements (whatever they are called) from the underside of the barrel.  Of course the downside would be having to carry the thing on your hip or backback or whatever.  I was wondering if any of you here have experimented with removing this apparatus for accuracy improvement.

I leave mine attached. I never seen a difference in accuracy.

I'll use a range rod at the range, but hunting my rifle will be wearing a ramrod. One pain in the rear tying to keep up in your back pocket.

You are talking about a black powder firearm and not a computation firearm.  I doubt you will see any different under field conditions with or with out the ramrod on the barrel. I use to hunt with a 14 inch 209x50 contender barrel with out an attached ramrod and let me tell you this, it was a pain in the butt to carry the 14" ramrod what do you think the rifle one would be like? I sold off that barrel and bought a 15 inch 209x50 encore barrel and I can see no real difference in the two
