Well I am now the proud owner of a Darton Rebel. I went down to the shop yesterday to just look at the bows that he had. I looked at some bows and asked him what he thought would be best for me and he pointed me towards the Rebel. He set it up for me and everything. I am going back down there this weekend for a shoot with a covered dish dinner. What surprised me was that in 15 minutes he had me hitting targets at 40 yards. Right now it is set at 48 pounds but I will eventually have him change it to the max of 50 pounds so that if I go to hunt deer in West Virginia I will be legal. I think I will use it for deer and hogs this year here in Florida if I can get the time.

Congrats on the new bow. But I warn you right now you'll get hooked on bow hunting deer. Nothing beats the adrenaline rush of having a deer walk into bow range, absolutely nothing.

By the way its only 106 days, 11 hours, and 26 minutes until Illinois bow season :grin:

just a word of caution.  if your bow max's at 50 pounds....when fully cranked up in poundage it oughta go to about 52 pounds.  you will want to do that.  if the legal limit in wv..is 50...check the poundage just prior to hunting.  cable stretch from practice etc, can wind up reducing your poundage back down to the 48 neighborhood if you use it alot for practice etc.  i shoot a ton....and i've had to retwist cables more than once to maintain my poundage max.

I have been shooting Dartons for over 30years now.  I been in archery/Bowhunting 50 years this year & have shot Bear, Jennings, Pearson, Hoyt, PSE, Astro, Carrol & many others I have forgotten.
All have been good but I have always liked the Darton Best.  They have accounted for many Biggame animals over the years.
Your 50#s will do just fine on Deer & Hogs.  Good Luck....
