Castings by Rodney Storie

Has anyone here had any dealings with this product.

I have tried contacting them by e-mail for more information but so far have had no response.

I am particularly interested in getting a Ballard action and building up a long range rifle. Something different here in NZ.

Also if any member here has actually used this product I would be most grateful for hints, tips etc.

Thanks

Dai.

Rodney turned over the sales and marketing part of the business to another fella. So far it's been a disappointment, as others have expressed the same problems you have.
I too contacted them about a pistol grip Ballard frame kit, and asked about assistance with blueprints, and specs, but never got a reply.
I have a friend who bought one of his castings, and did the maching and fitting, and in his words, "Their not for the faint of heart, or average machinist!" These are rough castings, and need a lot of setup, and extreme care by a master machinist, in order to end up with a woring action.
Not sure about the gun laws there in NZ, but in the USA a gun built from scratch is legal to build for yourself, but you can NOT build it for someone else, or it falls under the topic of manufacturing without a license! You need to have the skills to make this, or not even start the project here.
Ballard, the great American Rifles!
