So basically I want what everyone else wants.good pics in low light on high zoom with ease of usage.anyone found a camera like that.any recommendations.oh yea I have a baby due in a month (thats why my wife thinks I want a digital camera to send the pics to the family

Looking over the specs it looks like a good camera for the intended purpose. You're not going to get much higher zoom in a camera with an integrated lens. The 5MP capability should allow you to take good resolution pictures even if you have to sacrafice some of it by selecting a higher "ISO" to cut down the exposure time in low light conditions.

Three things to consider:

Kodak I believe has been in a decline for some time so I'd worry about support for it.

It uses Li-on batteries which are proprietary to the camera manufacturer so you can't just run down to the Walmart and by some AA version of it and a charger like you can for Nimh ones.

You'll need a memory card. The 32MB internal memory can't hold many pictures.

I just bought a Nikon Coolpix 4800. Haven't had a chance to play with it yet. I will let you know how it works for me later.

I am very happy with the Nikon. It has an 8X optical lens, and 15 preprogrammed functions. Every thing from night time cityscape to snow/sunny beach. This makes it easy enough to use that I can do it.You should be able to get geat pictures of those bucks. Post pictures when you bag a buck.

I have a Olympus c740 with 10x zoom.  Excellent camera!  I can get awesome wildlife pictures with this little jewell.  Just got my wife one off ebay to keep her away from mine.  Dont let the 3.2 megapixel fool you.  The clarity even at high zoom is the best.

Just remember, when using 10X to use a tri-pod. !0X to 12X, great for distance photos. But just like on your rifle.the tremors, and shakes.will ruin your photos. Mack
