Barrel Accessory Program
« on: July 03, 2006, 06:29:36 AM »
Hello,
Long time listener, first time caller here. I have a question for the forum members here, and from what I have seen so far, most of you are very knowledgable on these subjects. Before anyone asks, I did do a search and could not find my specific answer. Here goes.

I have an 12 GA SB2 980 Ultra Slug Hunter, sn HUXXXXXX. Is this receiver suitable for the other rifle calibers. I have been told that the Slug Gun SB2's are different than the rifle ones. This doesn't make sense to me, so I am asking those who know, and that is you.

I am interested in the 22" .308 bull barrel. Is there anyone here who has thus barrel, and do you like it? Are the bull barrels nice shooters? What are the Pro's and Con's between the Bull Barrel and the "regular" Handi-Rifle Barrel's?

Thanks in advance
Dave

Dave i think the first letter in your SN has to be an N or later to be able to be fitted with the barrels with an* in the barrel program.Check the FAQ sticky.

You know handi rifles are like lays potato chip's with the chip's you can't eat just one same with the handi rifle's you can't buy just one.

Dave,

Sorry, but the only barrels you can have fitted to your SB2 shotgun frame are the 10ga barrels and of course the one you have now. Your USH 12ga barrel is actually a 10ga barrel blank drilled out to 12ga rifled. The SB2 shotgun frame is different than the SB2 rifle frame unfortunately.

Your HU serial number indicates that it is 2004 production. You need either a H or an N for the first letter and it has to be manufactured after 1987, but they will only fit the barrels mentioned earlier. Just remember you have a 10ga SB2 frame on your USH, so read what it says about the 10ga as far as the barrel program. You will also notice your 12ga barrel listed with the 10ga barrels.

Dave

Busta has it right , the SB2 shotgun frame is wider and longer than the SB2 rifle frame and the rifle barrels are too narrow to fit properly on the shotgun frame .

sorry for the bad news .  :?

Dave:

The good news is they are cheap enough you can buy a whole
rack full of NEF's for the cost of one brand name bolt gun.

(Was gonna say a 'good gun', but, didn't think you guys would let
me get by with that one, hahaha!)

Just bought my second one this week.
