Where is all the H110?
« on: April 01, 2003, 02:20:27 AM »
Well, I have this .41 mag project that started with H110. Now, that I need more powder (missed that guesstimate buy 2 lbs.) I can't find any. I've also now read about a rumor that Hodgen is no longer producing H110 and another powder (don't remember which). Am I being forced to use 296 for further development?

I just bought some the other day. A gun shop my area is going out of business.  All of the powder in stock is $13 a lb.

I believe H110 and 296 are the same powder.  If you can't find any H110 get some 296 and treat  it like a new lot of H110.

Why not just use WC820?  At $7.50 per pound I like it a lot.  Regards...Gary

I called Hogdon today. They said they are still making and selling H110. The rumor the Hogdon was going to stop making and selling H110 is just a rumor.  8)

by the way guy's,  got e-mail from hodgdons they are not only continuing with h-110 but admit it is same powder as ww296. however be advised there are lot to lot variations in all powders and as when you change lots and you're already at the top end, back off and work back up.
if you need to add politically to the word correct, it isn't!

Maybe Freedom Arms has depleated the reserves on the H-110.     They use it for their hotter factory loads for the 454 Casull.

Seriously can't be much help... the shops in my area only have a pittifull supply of powder - I have to order most of mine mail order, or pick it up when traveling to another state.
