I have only done some target shooting with my k31s. Anybody have any hunting experiences with these fine rifles.

Not yet but I plan on it this deer season.  I did see a pic in a hunting magazine of a guy with his scoped K31 and the buck he shot.   :)

Cheese - a whole buncha years ago I hunted whitetail with a K-31 and its stock sights.  Used a 180 gn load.  It was just as good or better than the 308 I went to just to have a scope.  Same bullet as the 308 at a higher velocity (2650) than the accuracy load (2480) I had to use for that particular 308.  Shot to poa at 100 yd as I recall.  Norma load data. Good rifle.  Good load.  Mikey.

I took mine out two seasons ago. Couldn't make it last year.

Saw a beautiful doe, but couldn't take her due to the area I was in (state game...).

Had no issues with the rifle or scope setup. after the first morning out tho, I removed the quick clip on the sling and threaded the sling thru the keeper bar. The clip made too much noise.

I would like to, but the scope I have mounted on my scout mount set up for my k31  is one of those old Bushnell Phantom pistol scopes. Its ok and may do the job but it has a narrow field of view. I will stick with my 308 Encore Pistol and my 6.5 Swede Scout rifle again this year to do the honors. If I have a good archery season I might use it. I will have to shoot it some more to see how it looks and handles. It is not my first choice for a scope but my two other pistol scopes are being used on the previously mention other firearms and I do not want to do any switching around.
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.
