« on: July 15, 2006, 07:26:26 AM »
My search doesnt work on this site could be me could be the site but i know on other forums they hate people who post threads that have already been done over but i apologize cause i couldnt find one. What are the things that you take on a bear hunt that you will not leave at home no matter what, what are some of the things you like to bring with you but you dont have to have them, reason  ask is i'm new to bear hunting but i find it's where i want to be, deer isnt my thing even though i've done it for a few years, i can already hold my own when shooting scoped rifles against almost anyone but i need to know some of the equipment i need, i've heard the bugs are bad where the bears are so perhaps a bug suit? thanks for the help
I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?"
Well, to tell the truth I shoot a Springfield XD so it doesnt really matter.

I'm new to bear hunting too, so this thread is of considerable interest to me.  Two things I'm CERTAIN have to go along is, of course, a good sharp knife and a sharpener plus a high quality game bag.  That depends on how far you are from your road end for the game bag I reck'n.  Then I'm think'n one of the fold up game carriers would be just the cat's meow.  I don't think I want to drag a gutted animal of ANY kind a mile or two back to my pickup.  That's my take on it, sure would like to hear from others who've been there, seen it, done it, and bought the T shirt.
