t/c barrels vs. t/c custom "foxridge" barrels
« on: July 12, 2006, 01:06:44 PM »
does anyone know the difference? i'm thinking about getting another one in .25/06 or .7mm/08. i have a foxridge barrel in .260 because t/c doesn't offer that one. i know the t/c barrels are quite a bit cheaper in price.

I believe the heavy barrel from the Thompson Center Custom Shop (sold by Fox Ridge Outfitters) may have a little different contour than the other heavy barrels.  I also think it's possible (I have no proof) that a little more care goes into the barrels from the Custom Shop.  I have a good selection of both types and have been satisfied with all.

The custom shop is just that. Custom. If you can't get what you want in a factory offering the custom shop is a good way to go. I have a couple of Fox Ridge barrels and they are very good.  KN

I have a Fox Ridge .44 mag(16" carbine)barrel for my Encore and
the quality and accuracy are outstanding. If caliber or con-
figuration aren't available from T/C,Fox Ridge is a good way
to go.I will go to them again when ready for another
caliber.

I have both T/C barrels and Custom Shop barrels.  Personally I can not tell any differance.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
