Quality .22 derringer, but still affordable?
« on: June 30, 2006, 09:52:03 PM »
Hello, everyone-

I'm looking for an over/under derringer in .22LR. I plan to do some short-range plinking with it. It most likely will never be carried as a defensive arm.

I'm not too interested in the type that I regularly see for $75-100 NIB. I'm looking for something a little more substantial. I prefer stainless, but I'll see what's out there...

Anybody have a suggestion on a reasonably priced, quality .22LR derringer? I'm thinking in the $200-250 range should be sufficient to get me into a quality arm.

Already have a couple of mouse guns, a Beretta 21 and an NAA 1-1/8" in .22LR.

Thanks, Uncle Howie

The only derringer company I can think of that remotely fits the bill is American Derringer. They make the classic o/u derringer and the High Standard DA Derringer clone but you may have to pay the north of $25000 for one. Bond is another company that comes to mind but I'm not very familar with their product line.

Bond makes an excellent product, probably the best, however, you did say "affordable" . . . Can you afford $400?
