Hello I was wondering if anybody knew if all the Winchester M94 Rangers are angle eject. I found some mounts that would allow me use my scope closer to the rifle right now I am using see thur mounts and the scope is way up there. I would like to use the open sights or a peep sight my eyes just are not that good anymore. Also is there a way to find out when Winchester rifles where made.
THANKS

Only the ones with an "AE" after the model number are angle eject. Some of the rangers are regular.

JMO, but I think your Ranger is too "new", for most Winchester DOB search sites - which, IIRC, usually seem to go up to only around 1970 or so.
A call to the big red W, with the serial number, ought to gt you the DOB.

Thanks for the replys. I found a site when I did a goggle search that had the years made up to 1982. It said for every year after to add 100,000 so from what I come with my made was made in 1994. It does not have AE after the serial number so I guess the mount I wanted will not work.

Does it have holes drilled in the top of the receiver? They should be plugged with a small screw. One in the front of the bolt, two (one on each side) at the back of the bolt. All are in the receiver, not the bolt.

Yes it is drilled and tapped for scope mounts. I have the see-thru mounts on it now. The base I was looking at allowed for the use of low rings but it would have to be angled eject.

I may be wrong, but I think the mount will work for one made in 1994.
I got my first Winchester 94 in 1983 or 1984. I think that was about the time they began making them with the angle eject feature. I was almost a teenager then, so I might be wrong. I bought several new Winchester 94 during the 1990's and none of them have AE in the model number like the first one my dad bought me in '83 or '84.
If you are currently using see-thru mounts on top of the 94, how does it eject them - angling to the right or straight up. I would bet it is angling them to the right, and that the lower mounts you want would work.

angle eject became standard in 1982 , easy to see ejector on the side of bolt not the top .
