What is it, what do you think of it, and should there be a Handi in this caliber?

It's a 7mm .30-30, looks like a good caliber for a Handi, but would be expensive since no existing 7mm could be just rechambered. :'(

Says in my Hornady Reloading book on the cartridge "reports from the feild indicate it fullfills its originator's intentions"

Have him bore and camber it to 7-30 waters to go with my 219 Zipper,
25-35 Win and 30-30 Win. I doubt I'll every do it. To happy with the 25-35.
 Just been thinking! Regards, Marv.

I was thinkin that it would be a good caliber for a youngster or lady to use on whitetails. My wife and daughters hunt and I am always looking for the right caliber for them.

I had a 7-30 Waters in a 14" TC Contender and was very happy with it. I finally sold it to my brother, because to appreciate it's full potential, you need to handload it with good spitzer bullets, and I don't handload anymore. Shot a number of deer, coyotes, and even a ram with it. It would be a good honest 300 yard deer gun in a handi (if the accuracy is there). Don't know about the rifle, but recoil in my TC was very manageable.
