OD paint color
« on: July 20, 2006, 04:25:31 PM »
I know that some time ago there was a posting about the OD color. Since, the search is not working I thought I bring this up again. I need to get the proper OD color mix (hopefully for Lowe's) for a future project. Thanks.  :)

OD is a difficult color to pin down as it changes due to ultraviolet exposure.  I use Frazee Army Green and think it is OK.  It looks pretty much like this, at least on my monitors.

Some time back I did post the formula for the correct Olive Green.  The formula I posted came from taking a paint sample from one of the big  Cannon Restorers--Steens and having it analyzed by Home Depot and Lowes. If you need authenticity drop them a line and see  if they will send you a sample.

Until we get the search function working it may be a while until we find it. I will get it posted in the Cannon plans when I find it.
Until then the colors that George and Rick mention look just fine.

Here is another; this one uses Sherwin-Williams paint.
