Help me decide if any of these modifications make good sense...

Perhaps I could ask you guys to rank from most to least sensible the potential modifications to a FA 83 454 C 7.5 inch

Inverted muzzle crown $92
Four-port magnaporting $140 (I do tend to flinch--so more noise might be a bad thing?)
Fiber-optic front sight $30 (est.) with express rear sight $108 (desire to have a more packable revolver for some travels--would remove scope periodically)  -- (also have 2X scope and mount for most hunting applications)
Fluted cylinder $36
45 Colt cylinder $353
Linen micarta grips (to replace Pachmyr rubber) $237

Shipping to and from FA $100

Thanks in advance for any and all opinions...

Micarta ... the 45 cylinder ... maybe the inverted crown.

The gun I've ordered will have a 45 Colt cylinder coming with it.  That just adds a ton of versitility to the gun as I see it.

personally, i like the micarta grips and a fluted cylinder. i would not spend money on the inverted crown unless the factory crown got damaged somehow and i would not buy a 45 colt cylinder since i reload and can load 454 brass to whatever power level i need. Also, i never found a good way to carry an extra cylinder. 45 colts can be fired in the 454 cylinder in a pinch as long as you clean it well afterwards.

Stay away from the porting.  A SA is supposed to rise at the muzzle and roll back in your hand so it is placed properly for you to thumb the hammer as  you drop it forward to return it to "battery"  SA were not meant to recoil straight back like an auto or a DA.  The options sound good and should make a nice looking setup.  I guess I am with others here when it comes to extra cylinder.  I skipped the 480 Ruger cylinder on my 475 as I can download 475 to well below a 480 for fun plinking and practice loads.

Hey, if you think you can download the 454 for easy shoot'n, whatta ya think you could do with the 45 Colt?  Both those  rounds are VERY versitile with ample overlap.  I'm kinda of the 'pinyun that ya just can't have ENOUGH 45 caliber guns too shoot!

From your list I would choose only the micarta grips. The rest is not needed in my experience.
