What's it worth?
« on: July 22, 2006, 07:35:02 AM »
Hey out there, new to site and my first post.

I recently purchased a model 15-2 357 with the 4" barrel.Monson
Purchased from a friend at work who bought it new in 1986.
The gun has never had a round fired through it and looks brand new.
Whats it worth?
I gave $250 for the gun,a leather holster, soft case and a full box of magnum ammo.
No pics yet but workin on it.

Same price I got mine for, minus the holster. Get some pics out there. If it shoots anything like mine you'll be glad you parted with only 250 bucks. They are dead on accurate.

I hate to put a round through it.HEHEHE But i'm a gonna.
Was wondering if any collectors out there knew what it would be worth unfired or if it really mattered.

The value of Dan Wesson's has always been in the shooting.  An unfired gun may bring an extra $50 or $100... MAYBE.  Who knows in years to come.  The short answer to the what it is worth question is :

What someone will give you for it right now.

If it's brand new, and unfired, I think you got a great deal!
Unfired - I feel that paying even $350 would have been fair. It's damn strong, and highly accurate....and gentlemen, that's worth money!
You did well.

I can see you have a Pachmayr on your gun.  Does Pachmayr have that kind of grip today?  I looked into their web-site - but could not find a similar grip.

actually that was mg66's gun you saw pictured with the rubber grips.
I just bought a set of pachmyrs off e-bay for $5.99 plus shipping.
I don't think pachmyr offers them on their site anymore but I know hogue does.
or there's always e-bay.

 good luck
