Marlin- NEF .410

I have a .410 that I bought at Kmart several? years ago that is obviously an NEF but is marked Marlin.  The serial number prefix is KN.  Anyone know if the factory will fit a 20 ga barrel to it?  thanks

I believe the answer to that is yes but a quick phone call or e-mail to H&R would confirm it.  The phone # and e-mail addy is in the Q&A section.

It has been asked before and the answer was "NO", unfortunately.  The barrel program says, the serial # has to start with a H or N for them to add a barrel. I know it makes no sense, but that was the answer. Like brett says, call for your own answer. The toll-free # in in the FAQ's in the Center-Fire Forum.

Maybe a dyslexic typo? NK would make more sense.

Well as the barrel is marked Marlin and it was a special run supposedly only for Kmart I always assumed the K prefix meant Kmart and the N was the start of serial number as usual.  I will call but didn't have time before work and prob won't until after holidays.  thought someone might know.  Thanks 

I was told they were only made in 12 and .410 or I would have bought a 20 back then.

Anything is possible, but the second letter N of an NEF/H&R denotes 1999, only they'll be able to tell ya.

They're closed until after the holidays anyway, seems to me they won't open until the first full week of the new year, but that's just from my feeble memory!!

Right after Marlin purchased NEF several years ago there was a special run of shotguns for K-Mart.They were designated as the Marlin model 200.If I remember correctly they were only made the one time.I have a 12 gauge.It is definitely an NEF and all parts interchange.
