M336/.44 Magnum...
« on: July 24, 2006, 05:32:33 PM »
Was in a large shop near my parents house today and spotted a very clean older M336 in .44 Magnum. The wood is nice and dark with only one small handling mark on the bottom of the stock near the lever. The grip is straight. The blue on the bottom of the receiver is a little worn from carrying but the barrel retains almost all its finish. The gold trigger and saddle ring are still bright and show little wear. Loading gate, internals and bolt face show little signs of being fired. Missing the rear sight elevator and front sight hood but that is about it...

Serial number is AB30XXX....anyone have any information on when the gun may have been made....

I have not had a .44 Magnum rifle is many years...I do now... $210.00 OTD.

Turns out to have been a 1966...  But it didn't last long in my safe... One of my hunting friends found out about it and was interested in it as his rainy day rifle...what can you say to someone who lets you use his cabin in the middle of no where any time you want to get away...

But this "was" the gun...

Jeeze!!! Great buy and gone for a great purpose. ;)  I would wrestle hard to have one of those saddle ring carbines as they are quite rare for sure.  I shoot a couple of .444's and a 44 Mag.  It would be a fine compliment to those firearms for sure.  My life would be complete!! ;D

I might of found it a little hard to part with that.
