SPR94 Scoping Experience
« on: November 09, 2006, 09:42:26 AM »
I finally had an opportunity to scope in the SPR94 12/223 yesterday and found that after targeting the shotgun (using a rifled choke made my Colonial Arms and Remington Slugs) at 50 yards the rifle was 4.5 inches high and 4.5 inches to the right at 50 yards.  Upon calling Remington I was refered to Spartan (AKA EAA the original importer of Baikal).  After speaking with the head gunsmith I was told the height could be adjusted and the windage could not be adjusted so split the difference to adjust for the difference.

Upon further discussions it was suggested to send the gun in to see what could be done and if the gun fit within factory specs which are not published.

Has anyone had a similiar problem or heard of such a gap between the point of impact for the rifle and shotgun?

Thanks
Doug

It seems to me it's asking a lot to have them solve a problem that has occurred with a choke tube they don't even sell.  I'll be surprised if they will be willing to go very far with a fix.

The Valmet 412 rifle bbls can be ajusted for both windage and elevation, so i've not had that problem before...

BTW, none of the Savage combo's i owned would shoot both the rifle and shot bbls together and to the sights!
