crap. i messed up something...
« on: August 03, 2006, 04:38:40 PM »
ok so i had posted about how to properly clean my model 94 (its pre-64, made 45-46)
I work with my hands everyday and am good at taking things apart, putting them back together...
I followed the directions in the provided link on dis/re-assembly of the 94 to the *T*.
Upon re-assembly i attempted to chamber a round to get a feel for the clean actions....it wont properly chamber a round now! it wants to jamb it up at an angle that is not conducive to proper opperation. It *feels* right when i operate the lever without a round in it....waddid i do?!?!?!/
help!

Creek,

I think your problem is at the cartridge carrier. They recommend that you do not take these down as they are a B!! to adjust. Get some snap caps and slowly cycle the action. Get a dental pick or something to correct the alignment of these carriers, then tighten down the screws. (There's one on each side of the action, just above the loading port). When everything is "working, lock everything down with "blue" locktite, and do not remove in future disassembly.
