Blown up cannon pictures (Reposted)
« on: August 03, 2006, 08:30:53 AM »
I was looking for these to send to A person considering makeing a cannon, and could not find them.(I had them in an obscurely named file) but I feel they are important.
Apparently this piece had been fired repeatedly and reached it's limit. Perhaps the original poster will chime in here and retell the story?

As I recall, this was a cast iron lawn ornament never intended to be a firing (even blanks) cannon.  Don't know why they put full depth bores in lawn ornaments.  Here is the original thread.

Certainly true.  Cheaper to ship also since they would weigh less.

If you read the old thread very carefully you will see that Eddie buddy is the one who converted the cast Iron yard ornaments into cannon.  They were not imported as cannon.

We now have this very important link relinked in or Cannon safety post.
