Ruger Old Model Bearcat hammer?
« on: August 01, 2006, 11:19:17 AM »
* I have posted this in the Ruger firearms forum as well:

Anybody have one they will part with?

According to my gunsmith my hammer has a broken half-cock notch. The cylinder will not freely spin for loading and unloading. He says the best thing is to send it back to Ruger for repair/replacement... and that Ruger will convert it to the 'improved' hammer version.

I'd be willing to do that just to get the gun operational again, but in truth would prefer being able to keep it as original as possible by replacing the hammer.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers
Kerry

Try Ebay or other auction sites like Gunbroker.com. I have seen old model trigger and hammer sets on those sites.
Most men wil blink an eye or take a breath before pulling the trigger, I won;t
