I'm gettin ready to start load development for my new Savage LRPV in .22-250, and I was wonderin if you guys could give me some good accuracy loads and then also some accurate varmint loads to start with. Its a 1 in 12" twist and a 26" barrel. Thanks!

I use a max load of Hodgdon Varget, Rem brass, CCI200 primers, 55gr Rem PLHP and 55gr Sierra GK in my Remington 700 ADL. If I do my part both bullets go into 1/2" @ 100yds (3 shot groups). Velocity 3615 out of my 24" barrel.

39.5gr of 2520 with 40gr Barnes Varminathor's make about 4,250fps out of a 26 inch barrel. Larry

Thanks guys! trotter- will pushing that light bullet that fast in a 1 in 12 barrel not spin it too fast and almost make it disinigrate? I think I read about somethin like that happenin.

Well Kid, my Savage 12 FV 22-250 with 26 inch barrel likes 50gr V-Max's over Alliant RE 15. One grain less than the listed max charge in fire formed Winchester brass with Rem 9 1/2 primers. No excessive preasure and yeilds some less than 1/2 inch 5 shot groups at 100 yards and some 3/4 inch groups at 200 yards. Bullets seated .030 off the lands. Not all groups are this good of course, but this my best load so far. I wish my range was longer, but it's not. Be a sport and let us know how that rifle shoots, will ya? They sure look nice.

Thanks Irv! Sounds like a good load to maybe start with! My Dad's friend is ordering the rifle, scope and rings for me today and depending on if they have to ship overnight it could be here tomorrow! I'll try and post some pics and will definately let y'all know how it shoots!
