7MM Mag. load help
« on: August 01, 2006, 04:18:42 PM »
Need a good load for a 7 mag, using 175 gr. Sierra bullets.  Have tried IMR 4350, shot fair and IMR 7828, real erratic.
Anyone know any good loads?  Gun is a 700 Rem. ADL going to Northern Sash. for moose.

I have had good luck with Remington 175 grain CorLocks and 175 grain Hornaday bullets pushed by 78 grains of AA8700.  Both bullets were accurate and shot into the same small group at 100 yards.

I have used the hornady with IMR 4831 starting at 62 gr its a ok hunting load (2-3") at 100 off hand. The Sierra may be a better choice as its BT, which my rifle seems to prefer.

I haven't used the Sierra bullet, but I have used the 175 grain Speer Grand Slam for moose when I was in Alaska!
My rifle is a Remington M-700 BDL, 7mm-Rem Mag!

The load that I used was 56.5 grains of IMR 4350!
I had pretty good accuracy, if I remember correctly, I could put 5 in a 2 inch circle at 100 yards!

The one 7MM Rem. mag I owned would not shoot 175 grain bullets as well as other weights. My best 175 grain loading used the Speer 175 grain Mag Tip and H4831.
