Tracker II scope mount - regular or Ultra?
« on: August 10, 2006, 02:26:33 PM »
Just got my frame back today with my new Tracker II 20 gauge barrel. I plan to drill and tap for a scope mount, and ordered the Ultra mount. I'd heard that the front screw on the Ultra mount would keep the mount from flexing. Anyway, they sent the regular mount, not the Ultra. Should I bother with exchanging it for the Ultra, or just use the regular mount?

Thanks,
David

The regular mount is plenty long enough, it's what I have on all my deer guns. I have the Ultra Mount on my Ultra Varmint, because it came with it. Unless you plan on putting a very long Varmint Scope on it, the regular mount will be plenty long enough. Good luck with your new 20.

Thanks, Busta.  I think you are right. I taped the mount to the barrel and checked the ring placement with the Leupold I plan to mount, and it looks like it'll work just fine once I get some higher rings.
