Shooting Times article on CZ Dan Wesson Revolvers
« on: August 11, 2006, 08:38:22 PM »
There is a great article on the Shooting Times site about CZ Dan Wesson revolvers written by Dick Metcalf, a long time fan of Dan Wesson revolvers.

The article shares new models, features, and prices along with pics and story from an African hunt with Dan Wesson revolvers.

Its a good read here:

I am glad to see CZ making a serious bid in the revolver market.  If we can get them to do just a little R&D and come up with a Dan Wesson in 500S&W and 460S&W, those would be the ultimate revolvers in my opinion.  I would have to buy one of those even if I had to sell something else first.

It looks to me like they're going to have to get a little more realistic on their prices too.  Not everyone is willing to part with $1000 for a .357 Mag, when they might be willing for a stretched frame SuperMag.  However, there's a lot more .357 Mags sold than there are SuperMags sold.  In fact, my 715 LNIB, was less than 1/2 that $1000.  ::)

They won't be selling many if any 357's at that price, but like you say they could sell some stretch frame calibers in that range.  Seems to me they would seel the smaller calibers cheaper in order to introduce people to the Dan Wesson concept and to prime the pump for the bigger ones.  S&W has proven that there is a viable market for the bigger guns.
