Value of old 16ga.
« on: April 10, 2003, 12:55:32 PM »
I have a chance to buy a Vintage Arms 16ga single shot and wondered if any one could tell me the value of it.  I believe the name was Vintage arms.  I may be wrong. I know it started with a V.  The guy wants a 100.00 for it.  It doesn't have any rust and the barrel is in good shape.
Thanks for any help.

ridgerunner,
I don't find anything in shotguns or rifles with that name.  You might want to take another look for more information.....Perhaps it's made for "Brand X" like Sears Roebuck (J C Higgins, Ted Williams, etc.), Mongomery Ward, hardware store brands.  Sounds like an inexpensive single shotgun, possibly an import.  Price sounds OK, but finding parts would be a challenge.

I talked to the guy this morning and it is Volunteer Arms.  It is a single shot 16ga.

I wouldn't pay anything close to that for an off brand singleshot. A brand new NEF is only around a hundred bucks.
