Hummmm.
This is a very short weapon in a very hefty caliber for a primary carry, I think.
Now it would work fine at short ranges, 5/7 yards.
I carry, as apocket weapon, a walther in .380. It has heavy felt recoil because of its size but it has been at my side for 35 years (1970).
I tried a Colt Mustang in .45 for awhile. I could barely keep it on paper at 7 yards.
I own a Sig 239 in .357sig that is a better gun than the Walther, if caliber is the deciding factor, but it does not fit the pocket as well.
On the hip it is a rocket and a better choice, IMO, than the .45 in the same size.
In a .45 I don't think I would carry smaller than a commander size, well maybe an officer.
It seems too me that this is awful short for a .45.
Now, Kimber makes some nice weapons and I am sure you would be happy with the weapon and function. I am not sure how small a weapon can get and it function as reliable as we would have need.
