Transporting that scoped barrel
« on: August 28, 2006, 07:15:07 AM »
I read that most of you Handi owners have multiple scoped barrels. What type of cases do you'all suggest for transport and whats the best way to store them? Thanks for your input.

Welcome aboard!! :) The best way to store/transport them is on a frame as a complete rifle!! ;D I use an ADG #31088 double rifle case to store 4 barrels, got it locally for $80, and a TC soft case from Cabela's to transport a rifle and an extra barrel in.

I picked up a Winchester  take down shotgun case, It will 2 barrels and 2 actions.
It was made (I think ) for 1o1 shotguns, works great.  Marv.

The one Cabela’s sells that is built for an Encore and has an extra pocket for a spare barrel fits the Handi well and I am very happy with mine.  It runs about $30.

Thanks guys, I should have said that i was planing on adding at least 3 of the fluted bull barrels to the Ultra 25-06, so I need a case for those other barrels. The planed calibers are .243, .223, and .204. Plan to take 'em all on a varmit trip, so they will be traveling togather. The take-down case is an excellent idea, Thanks again

I just ordered another case that's made to keep a firearm dry with a gortex like membrane, haven't got it yet, I'd post a follow up if it does what they claim and works well with a scoped H&R rifle. I ordered it from MPCSports.com which apparently no longer carries it, musta got the last one, got it for $55 along with a C&H mercury recoil reducer.
