cottontail trapping in VA
« on: August 11, 2006, 05:59:23 AM »
 ???
I am new to trapping and I need advice on trapping rabbits in Bristol, VA this fall.
1. recommend a trap and size
2. bait and baiting tips
3. Does the trapped rabbit need to feel secure from domestic cats until I get to him and how to do that?
4. How do you remove the rabbit from the trap, by feet, ears or skin on back?
5. Anything that I may have missed or other tips?
Thanks for your help

Tom;
I plan to cook and eat them. I will be visiting my son (Bristol, VA) and no dogs available to hunt with.
Thanks for your interest in helping me with this.
