Millett Red Dot
« on: August 27, 2006, 05:36:30 AM »
I have a Millett multidot and was thinking of mounting it on my Super Redhawk 44 Mag. Will the Millett stand up to the recoil of a 44 mag?

I've had a Millet reddot on a Ruger SBH-Hunter for nine years with zero problems. I haven't had to sight it in other than just checking it for 5 years now. Since I changed my hunting load back then. I've had the same scope on a 12ga. sluggun for four years now, and again no change in POI. I have four of them and recomend them to any and all. Midsouth has the 30MM 4MOA dot for $78.02.

I have had Millett red-dots on several 44 Mag Ruger Redhawk's and they held up just fine. I also installed one on one of my S&W 460 Mags and my buddy bought the gun and sight from me, me has about 300 rounds fired and I shot about 200 also in that gun. I never had a problem with that sight, but I did at one time shoot out the red-dot on one of my Millett sights on my Ruger 44 Mag, I sent it to Millett, and they replaced it right away. Ever since then I have used Ultra-dot red-dots.

What is the difference between the Red Dot sight, and the Holosight?  Is one better than the other, and if so, why? Thanks

Mine works fine.  It has improved the accuracy greatly
