Bought my first DW last Friday...need info

As the title reads...I bought my first DW 357 magnum on Friday. I have been reading up on the DW and just found this DW forum. I was hoping that someone could tell me which model I bought...the pistol was used and the box was not included. This is a Monson, MA produced pistol with a 6" barrel...the finish appears to be some sort of shiny bluing. SN 138XXX.
I would also like to know if the receiver/barrel needs to be drilled and tapped in order to mount a scope on this pistol. I bought this pistol to hunt PA whitetail next year. I figured that the 357magnum was plenty of pistol for PAWhitetail. Any information leading me to the right direction would be appreciated.

The serial numbers don't mean a whole lot. BATF got all of the records of the original company, so no one knows what number was made when.
The scope is usually mounted to the shroud, clamped on the vented rib.

Most likley it is a model 14(fixed sights) or model 15 (adjustable) ressed barrell nut.. Post a pic or describe it. Congrats. Bsquare makes a mount. it is not top of the line but works just fine. there about thirty bucks. They clamp to the vent rib. The vent rib makes it easy to do a good mount. Drilled and tapped. Mine is drilled and tapped but never figured out exactly what mount it was set up for. so I bought a bsquare. The model 14 shoots great scoped about 1 inch or so at twenty five yards off a rest. Clover leaf's are possiable with the correct ammo. 38 special is more accurat in mine. She is just begging to be hand fed. but for now I am buying big bags of 38 special from a local dealer. a hodge podge of ammo types but it doesn't seem to matter a whoe lot at twenty five yards. alot of fun to shoot. And guess what .. shoot it all you want as the barrell can be eaisly changed when you wear it out in 70 years.
