do encores shoot loose?
« on: August 28, 2006, 12:15:42 PM »
Over on the nef side, a discussion came up a couple of times about the handi "shooting loose" and requiring a shim to tighten things up. Is this a problem with all break over designs? Have any encores shot loose with high pressure rounds over time?

Not any of the ones I have, I even had a 416 Rigby barrel on one of mine.

A small piece of a forend broke under 375 H&H Mag recoil.where one of the forend screws went in for me.  It was replaced promptly by T/C at no charge.

You need to Locktite scope base screws on the Encore if you don't want them to loosen but I think this is true of any rifle.

The above are the only things on an Encore that have shot loose for me and I shoot Encores a lot with pretty much always with full house loads.
