I just got a Marlin Guide Gun in 45-70 with an 18.5" sighted in dead on 100.I thought I would see what it would do.There was a dead tree at 225 yds. I put a target on it.The shoot-and-see was an 8" target with a 2" frame. I put the cross hairs on top of the target it only hit 7" low.I was impressed I think I'll use it on deer this year.Off hand I only missed the first hole by 6" to the left of where the shot hit off the bags at 225.This Marlin is a shooter I think I'll keep it.Hornady says there going to make the coeff. better for these bullets wait and see I guess.
