Trusting people at Precision Rifle
« on: August 29, 2006, 07:43:23 AM »
I recently ordered the .25ACP breechplug from Precision Rifle and when I got it, the durn thing wouldn't fit.  I knew that there were two "models" - the 5/8" and 7/8" and I very carefully measured the breech of my Huntsman, finding that it was 7/8".

The reason the breechplug didn't fit was entirely my fault.   I didn't read the web page carefully and therefore missed the word, "threads" in measuring for the plug.  When I was looking at the existing plug, I quickly saw my problem, saying the famous 2-word phrase that starts with "Oh, XXXX"

I called Canada and explained my problem, telling them that the whole thing was entirely my fault and asking what could be done.   They voluntarily told me that they would send me the proper 5/8" plug and that I could send the 7/8" back.   None of this, "Well, send the 7/8" back and when we get it, we'll send the 5/8".  Nope, they just send the correct one, trusting that I'd send the 7/8" back.   Naturally, I did!!

So many times we deal with large unfeeling companies that require us to jump through hoops when something goes wrong.   I thought I'd tell you about a company that treats it's customers in an honest and forthright way.

Now if I could only find the time to get to the range to fire my new plug. . .

My experience with them has also all been positive. That is generally the case with a family business. They have been very good at answering all questions and making sure their CUSTOMER is satisfied. With a lot of big companies out their today, you just don't get that kind of service usually. Glad to hear there is another satisfied customer with a good company.

I too have the .25 ACP breech plug in my Huntsman, works great and just about eliminates all blowback. I will usually have a light carbon ring on the standing breach where the case sits, but nothing like what you get from the plastic 209 primer carriers. Good luck at the range! :)
