favorite coyote call
« on: July 23, 2006, 06:08:22 PM »
I guess could be more then one.electronic or mouth blown what ever.
I have one I made out of a .223AI case I just love it and the coyotes do to.it always goes with me.So does the electronic caller.I have an old JS jackrabbit tape and a new one.they are different but both work great.
I have a bunch of calls(I have been half hartedly collecting them)and have brought in coyotes with just about all of them.some freeze up in the winter and some are affected by my slobber..and some with the stupid rubber bands do not last long.and my fat ole fingers can not get a new one on correctly. But the ones I listed at the begginin of the post are me favorites.what be yers..
my huntin rifle is safe from confiscation only while my battle rifle protects it.

Kyote, I have so many hand calls where do I start? If I had to pick one I guess it would be a Weems although I do like the JS PC-3 alot.
E-calling sounds I have to agree with you, hard to beat the old rabbit sounds, jackrabbit or cottontail have probably killed more coyotes then all the rest, maybe all the rest put together..

Favorite Coyote Call ???????????

My favorite calls are the one's i made, I do have a box of calls that i have bought over time, Every time i see one that i don't have i buy it and put it in a box after using it and go back to using my mouth and the calls i made. Don't want to sound like a smart aleck but i have better luck that way. I have made some howlers that work pretty well, But using a howler and not knowing what you are doing is a sure way to run the coyotes out of the country. " when and how is the trick " If is possable find a coyote a short distance from you and try your howler and see what he does," You may be surprized." He may come your way and again he may haul butt the other way. Worked for me......... :).......Joe........
