powerbelts or tc mag express sabots?

ok.....i have decided to try app powder in my new inline ...now.... should i try  tc mag express sabots or go buy some of the powerbelts???....in my old renegade i used only maxi balls and maxi hunters..easy to load.....i have heard that sabots are sometimes hard to load......if accuracy is the same i want the 1 which is easier to load......from what i have heard the powerbelts are easier to load than the sabots.....is this correct?...thanks mack

My hunting buddy's Black Diamond uses the Mag Express sabots with two pellets. Don;t nuy the APP sticks... use loose powder instead. Also don't wet-swab that bore -- use dry patches to swab every 2-6 shots as-needed. Only dampen the patch as last resort for most consistent shot groups. Buy a weakened 209 primer like regular CCI, Remington Kleanbores or Winchester Triple Se7en primers.

I've tried powerbelts in five differant muzzleloaders. None shoot the way it claimed it should.  Before all the load B.S. starts I shoot loose powder and start with 65 grains and work my way up to 130 grains to see what each gun likes best.  If you like powerbelts good for you they have never worked for me.

I think you are deep in the minority manofthe45.  Powerbelts are still the #1 selling muzzleloader bullet in the world. I think they've been on top for 3-4 years now.

Well, I must be in the minority too. #1 selling has nothing to do with shooting or performance. The reason it is #1 selling is that everyone wants to try something different (something easy), and they are different. Sure they load easy, but they have never shot well out of any of my muzzleloaders which include Knights, Whites, T/C and NEF. Not to mention their poor performance on game. If you want a varmint bullet that explodes on contact with bone, then that is your bullet. If you want to make sure your bullet makes it into the boiler room, it's not your bullet. I'll take any other bullet first over the PowerBelt, even the round ball. I have witnessed failure of the 295 grain Aero-Tip and 110 grains Pyrodex on a bull elk at 28 yards by my hunting buddy. He had used them sucessfully on whitetails, but if you intend to hunt truely big game like elk, find another bullet. The faster you push them, the worse they are.

I agree Busta.... buy the new Platinums Belts for best results.

Still doesn't discount the fact that "those who don't know better" buy more of these Powerbelts than anything else. I must have 40-50 various Powerbelt styles laying around because "those that know better" choose another bullet. I am not a fan of the 44-cal Mag Sabot either. They have issues sometimes too.  Give me a Barnes - Precision Bullet DC, EE, KN, QT varieties - any Buffalo sabot - bigger 300 gr XTP or T/C poly-tip bullet instead.

  I walk into wally world And I'm in the minority. I walk into work again in the minority.  I drive into town and I am the only minority.  when it comes to powerbelts sorry but I am not in the minority.  They are the number 1 advertised ML bullet out there.  Hell the local Wallyworld stocks them 4 to 1 over other brands.  My local gunshops on average 2 to 1.  If you claim something is the best and easiest to load people are going to try them.  People who know that accuracy and performance doesn't come with three 50 grain pellets and the "awesome" powerbelt trade them, sell them, or pitch them.  would the T/C's he suggested be my first choice. No, but he asked an A or B question.  Like I said if powerbelts work for you great.  They have NEVER given me even satisfactory performance.
