Encore pistol with rifle forend
« on: June 02, 2006, 05:49:26 AM »
I expect to get my Encore within a few weeks, and I was wondering if the forends made for the Encore rifle will fit the pistol with the 15" barrel without modification and without extending past the muzzle?

It would make a nifty little carbine.

I believe the answer is "NO", the screw spacing is different I'm sure.  Also, at least in the US, that "Nifty little carbine" would be a "mighty illegal, while still nifty, carbine"

As Selmer said, a 15" rifle is illegal. As for the forarm I believe the rear screw is in the correct place but the front would have to be re-located.  KN

A second look at your post, I see you are from finland. So scratch that legal advise as I know nothing about your country. If its legal there more power to you. You are right. It would make a nice little rig.   KN

I use a rifle composite on my Encore pistol. I had a third mounting hole added to the barrel and use the hanger bar system. my barrel is 16 1/4 inches and can be used as a carbine see @

It is indeed legal here (meaning it doesn't require a permit to change the weapon from a pistol to a carbine in this specific case) and it's something I checked with the local authorities when I started considering it.

But if the screw spacing is different, then it's not worth the hassle. It's just that I saw a .30-30 Contender with the rifle forend in the local gun store and I figured it could be interesting to do something similar with the Encore.

The stock will fit, though?

For about 10 U.S. dollars, I had another hole drilled and tapped to accept the longer rifle forend.  I really like it this way.

I also had a third hole drilled and taped to fit a rifle forend on my 15" 308.
Know I order 161/4" barrels and use the same forend forend.
