Traditions Yukon or Remington Genesis?
« on: August 27, 2006, 03:06:48 AM »
Have any of you tried these? I understand they are the same. Bass Pro has the Yukon for  139.00.  The Genises is 279 at Cabelas.
I like the way the action is made. Any comments other than they have Spanish barrels? Thanks

They are not the same gun, but are both made by the same company that makes Traditions in Spain. The Genesis has the Remington stamp and has a swing block design. The block swings UP and out to the left, which would warrant high scope mounts to clear the scope. The Yukon wears the Traditions label and has a drop block. The block slides straight down and ends up in the trigger guard in front of the trigger while loading primers or removing breech plug.

These rifles are not the same, but are using the same basic platform. The Yukon has cheap sights and is geared more for the entry level muzzleloader. The Genesis has SS barrels available with better sights and stocks.
