I have a 12BVSS in 25-06 and yes there is a palm swell. Mine doesn't have an adjustable cheek piece, it's pretty well the same shape on both sides.

WOW... the difference one letter makes. That thing looks totally different than what I have. :o

All I know to tell you is to look up the Choate stock on their website to find out what you need there. As for the left handed deal, you'll have to ask Savage about that, didn't see it on their...although I didn't look too hard. I'm left handed myself but I shoot right handed rifles... never could get a left handed rifle to "fit" me...ya know?

Good luck with your info search.

If you dont mind getting an aftermarket stock you can pick something left-handed and add a varmint stock. There are several aftermarket stock suppliers that do left hand.

Mine two are rightys and ended up looking like this.

I'd like to see a list of names of several suppliers that offer aftermarket stocks for left-handed, short action Savages.  Offhand I can think of Choate and the semi-do-it-yourself type stocks such as Wenig and Richard's Microfit.  I'd love to learn of more.

I can add Boyds to your list and be at 4 suppliers without doing a web search. How many do you need for it to be several?

I am planning on getting that scope in a target dot. Have you had any problems with it ???
I can get a new one for around $370.00 that seems to be a good deal for a stainless scope :o
thanks matt

Mine's a target dot. My only complaint is that I can't keep the dot on the target long enough to keep them in the same hole. ::)

BTW, That's a great price. The best I could find when I got mine was about $100.00 more.
