Shooting Chrony Beta Master Opinions?
« on: August 28, 2006, 03:52:46 AM »
What are your opinions of this chronograph?  Also, any other preferences in the same price range?  This will be my first chrono - want to get a decent one.  Thanks.

I have had a Shooting Chrony Beta Master for about 7 years.  Things you should know:
1. differences in ambient light can affect the results, requiring some trial and error in using skyscreens and diffusers
2. open it all the way for use
3. the remote/bench readout is great, will calculate statistics and upload data to a computer
4. the Shooting Chrony is as accurate as any other chronograph if you play the light right
We learn something new everyday whether we want to or not.

I've had mine for about 4 years and I'm pretty happy with it. I typically use mine in the mornings (usuallu overcast and sometimes sunny) and haven't really noticed any ambient light variations.
Hunting and fishing are not matters of life or death. They are much more important than that.
