trigger
« on: September 11, 2006, 04:12:43 AM »
I have an H&R model 700 DL, with a terrible trigger. I adjusted it down as far as it would go 6.5#'s, Does any one have one of these that has done successful trigger work, or had done. This seems to be a good rifle, but like any good rifle needs a good trigger. Thanks

Though I'm not familiar with this particular rifle, I have come to learn that a simple, LIGHT polishing of parts usually results in a HUGE improvement. Invest in a good, fine stone and have at it. It's quite simple, and if you go slow it's nearly impossible to screw anything up.

Also, try similar (but lighter) springs...sometimes it is the only option left.

Just be sure to check for safe operation!

Just do this carefully. Use a very hard stone and DO NOT CHANGE ANY ANGLES!!! A magnifying glass will help you see what you are polishing.
