One of my 50 Cal Encore shoots 195 gr. Precision Rifle DC duplex sabots over 90 gr. of triple 7, with a 25 ACP small rifle primer. My new Pro-Hunter shoot a 250 gr. Bonded shock wave over 120 gr. of triple 7 and Remington Kleen bore primers. Both 1 1/2 to 1 inch groups at 100 yards.

I have 2 loads which work well for my gun.  One is 3 50 grain triple 7 pellets and a 250 grain shockwave (most accurate) and  2 pellets w/ a 250 grain shockwave which gives me about 1-1.5" groups.  The three pellet loads groups just a shade tighter than the two.  Also, alot of guys on other boards swear by pyrodex pellets for their Encores.

Are the Hornady SST muzzleloading sabots the same as the Shockwaves? (Without the tail?)

Hornady makes both sst and shockwave bullets they are identical, but the sabots are different. The sst uses the hph12 sabot, and the shockwave uses the hph24. The shockwave sabot is thinner and easier to load. Both sabots are considered high pressure black sabots made by MMP sabots.

I shoot the shockwaves with three 777 pellets excellent accuracy, not too hard to load. The encore also likes 100 gr. loose 777or 2 pellets of 777 with the shockwaves. Try any of these loads with the new triple seven primers works great no crud ring.
