Any M-1 target shooters out there??? Tell us about your shooting prowess. Hell, you can even tell the truth if ya want to. :)

Tell other shooters what fun you've had with a M-1 on the target range.

My best-ever 600 yard score was with an M1 - a 198 with a bunch. It started life as a $169 DCM gun. That score came $1100 later! Having only recently retired my M14s in favor of the Plastic Unmentionable, the big guns still have a place in my heart. Let's hope they always do.

Department of Civilian Marksmanship  ; nowadays it's new name is Civilian Marsmanship Program (CMP). You can buy M-1's & other surplus guns & ammo from the gov. through this program.

I'm glad you asked:  we want yall to learn stuff & enjoy this BB. :-)

OK, I knew it but I didn't know that I knew it.
Ya'll still got that Garand clinic on the books for August? I think I'd like to get in on that. What's a fella got to have to participate in those Garand matches? What's the environment like? Easy going with help to new shooters or kind of quiet and serious like a golf game on TV?

Yep, Aug.30. A Saturday at 9A.M.
You need eye & ear protection & 35 dollars.
The coaches (I'm one) are very helpful & will keep you out of trouble as we are right there beside you.
The Chief Range Officer is LOUD & SERIOUS. That's because we have new shooters & we don't want anyone hurt.

All that said; if you come you'll have a good time & learn some good stuff.
Most of us have been coaching for several years & we know what to do & when to do it. It goes pretty smooth & we let you fire sighters first & then 50 shots for score. We supply rifles & ammo. We bring our own spotting scopes so adjustments can be made under way if nessesary.
