Finally got a day with the Swiss
« on: October 11, 2006, 11:14:22 AM »
I picked up a K31 last this past summer at a small gun show. Fair bluing, super polished bore, good wood, except for a nicely done repair job, supposably done at the Swiss arsenal. $90 and it was mine. Picked up some surplus ammo and Wolf Gold at another show recently, and finally got time to go shoot it. Very pleased. Consistant 2.5" groups at 100 yards, with the piss-poor military sights. Shot around an 8" group at 200, just playin' around. I can't wait to put a scout mount and pistol scope on this thing and really see what it'll do.

Congrats! I will be interested to see how it does with a scope.
What a deal on a rifle. You get a rifle worth about six hundred bucks for $90.
Aim small don't miss.

Thanks Simon! :)
$600??? ???
I don't know about that, but it was in MUCH better shape than the walnut version that I ordered for $149 a few weeks ago.
I haven't shot that one yet, I think it will be refinished first.

I am serious. If a company was to gear up today, and make that rifle, of that same quality, I bet it would cost $600.

Yeah, I did hear that, I believe it was an article on Aim's site. Actually, I think it was more like $1000. Either way, I think we're getting a great deal!

K 31 is a great gun, a little funny looking but Swiss quality.  Great trigger, better than most commercial sporters.  Now ammo and reloading supplies are becomming available.  I will buy another and scope it out.

To manufacture a Swiss K31 in this day and age would run around $2000.00 bucks, so the Swiss K31 is a bargain and a very accurate rifle. you can also get a St. Marie aluminum clip on scope mount and add a scope to it making it a great hunting rifle.
