NEF 280 Remington

A local pawn shop has a used NEF in 280 Remington.  It has the grey laminate stock plus scope base/rings.  Do you think it would be worth 209.95?  I don't really like the caliber but I could get another barrel later on.

If the stocks are checkered, they may have come from an H&R ultra.
I think the price is high, and if the gun is in a caliber you don't want, I'd pass it up.
You can order a new one at Walmart for $187 in your choice of caliber with plain wood stocks, and Walmart sells Weaver 4x4 rings for about $10.

You probably wouldn't have wanted to get rif of it...Most of the 280's are fine shooters...and the grey checkerd laminates aren't easy to come by for most...

What a thread ressurection!  :o 2 years ago... but yeah your right, you should have bought it. Those gray laminates are very hard to come by.
 Oh well, we all got a " ...and it got away"  story sometime in our life.

I think it is a bad idea to ask anybody on this forum whether a rifle is worth the price. If you think it is too high you can bargain, failing that you just forget about buying.

Many here are Walmart bargain hunters and don't know a good deal when they see one. They drive 100miles to save 20 bucks as if a pickup runs on air alone. What if you payed 20 bucks too much? I think you missed a fair deal and a good caliber.

The one who hesitates is lost.
