Here is my online blog from yesterday. As you can see there was some ups and downs but none-the-less a great day. I will only take the shot if I know there is no doubt that it can result in a kill and not wounding it or gut shot causing it a slow painful death. I must also say that my brother-in-law who was also hunting about 200 yards away saw about 10 deer and a friend hunting on the next property also saw many deer, shot a spike but missed a doe. As you can see there are some deer in these woods

MORNING
Hunted FB's in hill stand.
Wind from the front.
Temp was 45°F
In stand at 0600, out at 0900.
0755 - Doe walked in and took a shot directly to front with deer at 20 yards, quartering away. Shot just over it ... s**t happens ... not the first time and wont be the last time ...
0815 - 2 does walked in from front left and travelled to back left at about 30 yards. Too many twigs and leaves to have a shot.
EVENING
Hunted in umbrella stand.
Wind from left.
Temp was 70°F
In stand at 1610, out at 1830.
1705 - 4 point buck walked in from highwire from right front and fed on fallen Persimmon fruit. For 25 minutes I struggled to get a 35 yard shot but he always moved and had something blocking a shot. He finally walked off the way he came in.
1745 - 7 deer, 1 four point, 2 spikes and 4 does ran from high wire on right up the gully 60 yards to my front to the thicket to the left.
1800 - 4 does moved from left to right about 100 yards to my front.
